In fact, buying items and buildings can give you a nice XP boost. When friends and neighbors asked me: “What do I do with all my coins if I can’t buy decorations because these won’t yield more profits?” I usually tell them to splurge on something really big and more often than not, buildings are the ideal items to purchase. Open up the Market and go look under the Buildings category. In the image below you will see that the Red Barn costs 40,000 coins to buy but doing so gives you 400 XP!

The School House is also a good source of XP. 500 XP for only 50,000! And no limits too. That means you can buy as many as you want, with no limits unlike the chicken coops. Plus, 50,000 coins is not really that expensive but if you are on a tight budget, the Dairy Farm gives a good XP boost by awarding 100 XP each time you purchase this Farmville building. 10,000 is peanuts in Farmville and this building may just be the thing you need to reach the next level in a blink of an eye! Otherwise go for the Red Barn which also allows you to store items – 6 of them. In fact you can host a barn raising to increase your storage, all for 40,000.

Spend Your FV Cash on Something Really Worthwhile. And that means no cutesy animals or other decorations that won’t give you XP points. What you want to spend it on, are some Mystery Animal Crates or any other limited edition items that will give you a huge XP boost in a short while! For instance, this Farmville Jackalope will award you with a whopping 700 XP if you are lucky enough to get them from the crate! Talk about a juicy XP boost!

When you’re just starting out, or are at a lower level than you’d like to be, do focus on planting and harvesting rather than spending your money on decorations and trees or animals that do not yield as much coins. You want to fill up your available land with crops you planted so that you can gain more coins in a short time, NOT waste your hard earned coins buying up decorations that you do not need at the moment.

However, if you MUST place your animals or decorations somewhere in your farm, you can do so at the edges of your farm land. Place them there temporarily while you fill up the land in the middle with money-making crops.

Once upon a time, Farmville players can proudly show off a gazillion chicken coops on their farms, but not anymore. You see, only ONE chicken coop is allowed on a farm and using a glitch, players are able to duplicate multiple chicken coops. However, Zynga found out about this and fixed the glitch. That said, there’s still one way of getting around it, if only just to obtain another extra coop. Here’s how to do this FarmVille cheat:

• Open two tabs on your browser – The first should be your Facebook page (find a Farmville feed where you’ve got a friend announcing the availability of Mystery Eggs) and the other is the Farmville game on your browser
• Sell existing chicken copp
• Visit the marketplace and you’ll see that there is ONE available chicken coop for purchase
• Go back to the Farmville news feed tab and right click on the Mystery Egg offer.
• Go back to the Farmville game tab and purchase the only chicken coop you’re allowed to
• Accept the Mystery Egg (you will be given a chicken coop to house the egg/chicken
• Once screen loads, you will see another extra chicken coop in your gift box!

Another useful tip to see ONLY Farmville notifications is to refer to this tip here. That way you can catch the Mystery Eggs or other bonuses as soon as it appears!

When you’re just starting out, you can turn to soy beans to help you level up quickly. Don’t look down on this humble crop. It costs just 15 coins to plant a plot of soy beans but if you allocated 10 plots for this, it will cost you ONLY 150 coins — netting you 20 XP points in total.

What you do is select the soy bean crop, plant it, THEN delete it. You will see your level go up faster than usual, and you don’t even need to wait a whole day for the crops to mature!

Hay bales cheat are also great for a quick XP boost, but they cost 100 coins each. You can buy loads of hay bales, gain 5 XP points each, then delete them quickly. Rinse and repeat as you wish but do be mindful of your dwindling cash…

Generally speaking, difference is that you can pick your friends and they don’t have to live next door to you. You generally cant pick your neighbors and they do have to live next door to you.

Neighbors can send you free farmville gifts, fertilize your crops plus offer you a possibility to earn from their Mystery Eggs, achievements and lost animals. If you help out on their farms, you can also earn coins and xp for fertilizing their crops. There is no denying it– in Farmville, you need neighbors! How to get neighbors, that’s another topic.

There’s one disadvantage of people not becoming your friends but only neighbors. Their messages other then FarmVille Applet updates are not shown on your Facebook frontpage. So you could be missing out on some FarmVille related news updates or other FV talk they post outside of the app. But also, if you just need more neighbors, you can join groups where people do exactly that – becoming neighbors. Use Facebook search.

I asked one of my friends to be a neighbor; however, she didn’t receive the request. FarmVille shows her as pending neighbor but there is nowhere to delete the original request. How do I ask a friend to be neighbor again or can I?

It may be Facebook related issue. You can try to cancel pending neighbor request by logging directly on FarmVille.com and look for a button on there.

But usually, in the top left, outside of the actual Farmville screen there is a little tab that says neighbours . Go there and you can add, accept, and delete neighbors.

Also, you can send a direct link to someone, so they will not become your friends but they will become your neighbors in FarmVille:

If you copy and paste the above link you can send that link around to ask people to become your friends. Don’t forget to replace the unique identifier ( numbers after “=” ) with your own Facebook ID.

I would like to play against my 9 year old son. Can he have his own farm without a Facebook account?

At the moment the only way of playing it is through Facebook. Zynga also has Farmville.com website but you still need to log in via Facebook Connect widget to your own Facebook account in order to play the game on there.

The good news is that Zynga ( company behind the game ) got funder ( + 200 million $ ) and surelly their long term goal is not to rely entirely on Facebook.

What you can do is to create account for your son and edit his privacy settings if that’s your concern.

I’m sure one of the first things we Farmville players Google for is “Farmville Cheats.” A lot of results that appear are the same old things we already know but here’s an interesting cheat that will get you almost unlimited XP. Why do I say unlimited? That’s because it depends on YOU and YOU alone, and no other third party program or downloads are needed. YOU alone control how much XP you want and YOU alone will determine how many levels you want to gain in a single night or more.

The first thing you want to know is that ANYONE can make this glitch work. You just need to have at least ONE neighbor but of course it’s preferable that you have a lot because like the saying goes, no man is an island, right? But I digress. The main reason why we need NEIGHBORS is for the glitch to work properly.

Before we start working the glitch, let us take a look at our current level. The screenshot below shows that I am currently at level 12, and to get to Level 13, I need to have 3300 XP points. That means I am approximately 150 XP points away from the coveted Level 13. Our objective now is to gain at least 150 XP points in order to level up!

First you want to click on one of your neighbors. Say you’ve selected your neighbor Sally. Click on her icon on the bottom panel and select the option “Visit/Help Sally’s Farm”. You will see an alert popping up almost immediately.

Now the next step you should do is extremely important. And that is to keep your cursor on your neighbor’s icon in the bottom panel AT ALL TIMES.

So now the trick is to have your cursor on your neighbor’s icon AT ALL TIMES. Don’t hover elsewhere and don’t even dare click on the green accept button. You want to ignore that for now.

Now, with your cursor on your neighbor’s icon, select Visit/Help Sally’s Farm AGAIN and the farm will load. Again, another dialogue box asking you to help out at your neighbor’s farm will pop up. Notice that this may be a different task compared to the first one you’ve encountered (and ignored). Ignore the message, keep your cursor on the neighbor, and select the same visit/help option yet again. Wait for the farm to load, and do the same over and over again. After you think 30 times or more have passed, you can now click the Accept button and find that there are MANY tasks to be completed. Don’t bother reading all of them, just click on the button until they are all completed.

Do note that each time you help out at your neighbor’s farm, you will gain 5 XP points. Since we need to gain 150 XP points, it is understood that we need to click on the Visit/Help button and let the same neighbor’s farm load for as many as 30 times. Why? Because 150 XP divided by 5 XP is 30, hence 30 times.

Do this until you level up. Of course, you can just stop after 10 times, or even after 100 times (netting you a cool 500 XP points in one sitting!), but the reason why I do this is to avoid being back to level 12 without any change in XP points when I reload the game next time. Some have said that this cheat does not work but it DEFINITELY will if you have leveled up at least ONE level during the glitch. I’ll prove to you that it works.

After I level up, I go back to my farm. Note that when I reached Level 13, I can now plant morning glory flowers. With that, I plow some land and plant the seeds. After that I click on the Home button on Facebook, left the game and restarted Farmville immediately.

And voila, my morning glory flowers as well as my shiny new Level 13 are still there… even after I reload the game! That proves that this Farmville cheat DOES work… and beautifully too. Have fun!
